The Ultraleggera Chair has been developed to be the lightest chair in the world, weighing just 1.8 kg. The ultra-light, durable frame is made using innovative FiDU technology, combined with a laser-cut seat and backrest. Everything is made from one material: recycled aluminum. The overall structure is very light, yet it is an innovative chair that weighs just under 1.8 kg and has a load capacity of 1200 kg.
FiDU technology begins by laser cutting and welding the contours of stacked metal sheets. By injecting high-pressure air inside, it forms a two- to three-dimensional object. This creates ultra-light weight (hollow inside), durability (metal), and functionality (ready-to-use). In addition, since the way it swells differs depending on the individual, it is a one-of-a-kind product in the world with a unique expression.
It has won the Must Have Award 2020, the MATERIALICA Design + Technology Award 2020, the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2021, and has been exhibited at the Dezeen Showroom.
